Sonia Wynn is an Irish artist and currently on the Studio Painting Programme at Turps Art School in London. Having graduated from the Belfast School of Art in 2015, she then moved directly onto the Fine Art MA course at Chelsea College of Arts, London. Wynn draws with paint, incorporating line, bold colour and abstracted elements. Working from memory and collected imagery of the body, she explores themes around the feminist body and selfhood in narrative painting. Wynn balances topics that can be uncomfortable with a tongue-in-cheek sense of humour, which is often reflected in the titles and is visible in the duality of meaning in the work.
This Lecture Programme is supported by the Development & Alumni Relations Office (Arts & Culture) Ulster University
